Energetic Exercises 

Self-massage to relieve anxiety, stress and insomnia
 

Sit in a quiet comfortable place.


Applying pressure between your eyebrows
1. Place your thumb on the spot between your eyebrows.
2. Deep slow breaths and gentle, firm pressure in a circular motion for 8 minutes.

The upper shell of your ear, at the tip of the triangle-like hollow
1. Locate the point in your ear. It might help to use a mirror.
2. Apply firm, gentle pressure in a circular motion for two minutes.

The pressure point in the webbing between your thumb and index finger
1. With your index finger and thumb, apply firm pressure to the webbing between the thumb and index finger of your opposite hand.
2. Deep slow breaths and massage the pressure point for five seconds.

This pressure point is on your foot, about two finger widths below the intersection of your big toe and second toe, in the hollow just above the bone.
1. Find the point by moving your finger down straight down from between your first two toes.
2. Apply firm, deep pressure to the point, massaging for five

Root Chakra Activation

These exercises assist in the awakening of the root chakra.

Nose Tip Gazing

The root chakra is related to the earth and the sense of smell.             

Begin by sitting down comfortably with a straight spine resting the palms of your hands on your knees as you begin the nose gazing exercise                                    

  • Breathing naturally then gaze at the tip of the nose for a few seconds.    

  • If the gaze feels too intense or uncomfortable and strained, stop immediately.

  • Repeat this practice briefly and consistently each day and over time increase the length of the gaze.

  • When this feels natural and comfortable start holding your breath for a shorter period of time and then practice holding your breath for a longer period of time.

Yoga Techniques​

The root chakra at the base of the spine is located in the perineum for males in between the anus and the genitals. In females, it is located near the opening of the cervix.

  • Sit in a meditative pose and as you breathe in and out through your nose make the chakra area a part of the process.The breath and position should be maintained as long as possible. It may feel uncomfortable at first however with practice the benefits will prevail.​

  • Relaxed and sitting on the ground or a chair, rhythmically contract and release the perineum in males or the cervix in females with holding of breath intermittently. Practice this for a few minutes daily.

The Chinese have studied subtle environmental energies that have surrounded us for thousands of years, developing and providing an extremely advanced system that deals with these subtle influences.

The aspect we are focusing on is your personal directions. To do this we must establish your Gua number, to determine which directions are auspicious for you.

Tips:

  • Improve your fortunes wherever you go

  • Remember to always sit facing a good direction, sleep with the top of your head toward a good direction

  • Use doors that face a good direction from the inside looking out

  • Examples

  • Sleep with the top of your head towards your Health Direction

  • At work sit facing your Wealth Direction

  • On a date, face your Relationship Direction

  • When studying sit in your Development Direction

Working out your Gua number

Your Gua number is based on the Chinese New Year lunar calendar which starts between January 21 and February 19 of each year.
So if you were born before January 21 then you must use the previous year for the calculation. For example if you were born on January 12, 1985, use 1984 in the calculation.

 

To work out your Gua number you can use the following formula,

Birthdates up to 1999 Males
Take the last two digits of the year of birth. Add them together,
If the resulting sum is two digits, add those two digits together to reduce them to a single number. Then deduct from 10
Step 1.
If you were born in 1963
Add the last two digits together 6+3 = 9
Step 2.
Deduct from 10, 10-9 = 1
Gua number is 1

 

Birthdates up to 1999 Females
Take the last two digits of the year of birth. Add them together.
If the resulting sum is two digits, add those two digits together to reduce them to a single number.
Add 5, if necessary reduce the sum to a single number again.
Step1.
If you were born in 1988
Add the last two digits together. 8+ 8 =16
Reduced to a single number. 1+6 = 7
Step 2
Add five. 7+5 equals 12
Reduced to a single number. 1+2 = 3
Gua number is 3

Birth dates from 2000 Males.

Take all the digits of the year of birth. Add them together and reduce them to a single number.
Deduct from 11
Step 1.
If you were born in 2001
Add all the digits together. 2+0+0+1 = 3
Step 2.
Deduct the sum from 11, 11-3 = 8
Gua number is 8

Birth dates from 2000 Females.
Take all the digits of the year of birth. Add them together and reduce them to a single number.
Add four and if necessary reduce the number to a single number again.
Step 1.
If you were born in 2009
Add all the digits together 2+0+0+9=11
Reduced to a single number. 1+1 = 2.
Step 2.
Add four 2+4 = 6 your
Gua number is 6

Havening, Psycho-Sensory Technique

Havening is a new Psycho-sensory technique: that incorporates distraction, touch, and eye movements. Its goal is to reduce anxiety, traumatic events, discomfort, distress, negative memories, phobias, fear and cravings.


By changing pathways in the brain linked to emotional distress and boosting the production of serotonin in your brain you can relax and detach from an uncomfortable memories, feelings or blocks. This technique provides a self directed way to create a haven for yourself.


Serotonin is a chemical that acts as a hormone helping to coordinate different functions and processes in our bodies like growth, metabolism, emotions and even sleep. It creates a long-lasting feeling of happiness or well-being.

Follow these steps: 

  1. Identify an uncomfortable memory or a blockage and estimate your current level of emotional distress. Ten being the highest and one being the lowest. Now clear your thoughts and focus on something calming.

  2. Cross your arms and place your hands on your shoulders then rub your arms up and down to your elbows.

  3. Continuing this action, close your eyes and as you count from 1 to 20 as you Imagine yourself walking barefoot on pristine grass. With each number counted, visualise taking a step.

  4. With open eyes, keep your arms crossed and continue to rub your hands up and down your arms as you perform a series of eye movements. Without moving your head look to the right now the left repeat this sequence 10 times.

  5. Now assess your current level of distress. Ten being the highest and one being the lowest.

  6. Repeating the process, close your eyes and count from 1 to 20 as you Imagine yourself strolling along a path in a beautiful park. With each number counted, visualise taking a step.

  7. Open your eyes, keep your arms crossed and continue to rub your hands up and down your arms as you perform a series of eye movements. Without moving your head look to the right now the left, repeat this sequence 10 times.

  8. Repeating the process again, close your eyes and count from 1 to 20 as you Imagine yourself climbing by a rippling stream up a hill. With each number counted, visualise taking a step.

  9. Open your eyes, keep your arms crossed and continue to rub your hands up and down your arms as you perform a series of eye movements. Without moving your head look to the right now the left, repeat this sequence 10 times.

  10. The aim is to repeat the process until your level of distress falls to 0 or 1, or remains stable after three repetitions.
