The Power of Water

Aqua

Seventy percent of the surface of the earth is covered with water.

It also falls regularly from the sky in various forms over most of the land. There is no living thing on Earth that doesn't need water to live. All animals, plants, protists, fungi and bacteria must have water in some form in order to survive. Human beings can only survive for three days without water.

Since ancient times water has been one of the most effective elements in combating illness and injury, rejuvenating the body and calming the mind. When we delve into the organs in the human body we observe the highest percentages of water are the brain (80-85%), kidneys (80-85%), heart (75-80%), lungs (75-80%), liver (70-75%), muscles (70-75%), and skin (70-75%).

Hippocrates, a Greek physician known as the father of modern medicine, claimed that nature should be used to heal the body. Hippocrates was a strong advocate of baths as medical treatment 2500 years ago. Originally spa’s and bath houses were places of healing and cleansing.

Siddhartha a novel by Herman Hesse, is based on the life of Gotama Buddha. Siddhartha finally achieves enlightenment from letting the sounds of a river wash over him bringing inner harmony. The river was the place where he found peace and balance after a life long journey to free his spirit and gain wisdom.

“Water is not a resource, it IS source” Veda Austin

Veda works with crystallography and observes that individual water molecules appear to be working as a collective to create recognisable, meaningful imagery on the surface of ice.

This project is a collective and she states if we see ourselves as water molecules we have the opportunity to work together to create a picture of unity in the world seeded through the hearts of our young people.
